Yenny was born in Vietnam and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1985. Except for two years spent in Toronto, she grew up and attended school in Winnipeg. At the University of Manitoba, she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology in 1996 and a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2000. Yenny summered and articled with Taylor McCaffrey LLP. She joined Monk Goodwin LLP after she was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2001 and practiced with them until November 2015. On November 30, 2015 Yenny, in partnership with Alona C. Mercado, began serving their clients at their newly created firm - Mercado Trinh Law LLP.
Over the years, Yenny has been a board member of various non-profit and charitable organizations in Winnipeg, including The Free Vietnamese Association of Manitoba, Canadians Helping Kids in Vietnam, The Vietnamese Folk Dance Association of Manitoba, SCE Lifeworks Inc. and Innovative LIFE Options Inc. She is presently the President of the Asian Heritage Society of Manitoba, after being a long time board member.
Yenny has presented numerous seminars related to real estate law, commercial law, and wills to various groups such as banks, non-profit and charitable organizations.
